Liernis is an area that interests us as in a relatively small peninsula, there is evidence of four sites of settlement from different periods as can be seen on this survey. The first area is to the south of the peninsula in an area called Rubha Bhuailte - Point of the Fallen. The second area is Ceann Airigh an Obain - Shieling at the Head of the Creek The third area is unnamed but is on a promentary, 200m east of Oban an Innseanaich - Bay of the Indian? The fourth area is the settlement in the west section of the Liernish peninsula that is marked on the Reid Estate Plan of 1799. This illustrated survey shows sites to the west whilst this illustrated survey shows the central sites.
